In its commitment to the development of education in areas in which it operates, the Bank contributed towards the education of underprivileged children by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Educational Fund during the 10th Anniversary Celebrations of the Asante King in Ghana. The Bank continues to support this education fund throughout the year. The Bank also extended its support to the Vice Chancellor’s Students’ Needy Fund of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), the highest financial support the Fund has received since its inception. Other institutions, supported by the Bank include the West African College of Surgeons towards the College’s developmental activities and SOS Hermann Gmeiner School in Tema in aid of establishing a library for under-privileged children in the Alamador village. It had also supported the Ghana Institute of Journalism during its 50th anniversary celebration in the area of its alumni development. |
