GTBank Extends Services to Northern Ghana

In a bid to make its banking services truly accessible and convenient for all customers, Guaranty Trust Bank has opened a branch in Tamale to cater for the populace in the northern part of the country.

This brings to seven, out of a total of eleven, the number of regions in which the Bank has established physical presence in Ghana.

Located at the centre of Tamale, off the main Hospital Road, the newly-built plush branch, sited between the Central Mosque and the GOIL Filling station, is set to offer all the traditional banking services to individuals, businesses and organizations in the Northern Region and its environs.

Amongst the services provided are E-One Service (SMS Banking and Internet Banking); ATM Banking Service (Accepts Visa, China UnionPay and very soon, MasterCard); Slip Free Banking; Guaranty Trust Electronic Notification Service (GeNS); Statement by Email and a host of money transfer services such as Guaranty Trust Money Transfer (GTMT), Western Union, Vigo and MoneyGram.

Other services range from treasury and funds management, trade finance, credit facilities and the usual corporate and individual current and savings accounts.

The Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, Dolapo Ogundimu, in a pre-opening remarks stated that the setting up of the branch in the region, which has vast development and growth potential was just a matter of time. He stressed that, “Demands by customers and dictates in the banking business imply that services are taken to the doorsteps of customers and prospective ones”.

He explained that it is part of the Bank’s strategy to both horizontally and vertically expand its branch network to create convenience for customers and also seek new opportunities to further maximize returns for shareholders. “It is our aim to operate in a manner that is meaningful to both owners and users of the bank”, he reiterated.

He mentioned that, “In developing and recruiting for branches outside Accra, we ensure that preferences are given to those who reside in the towns and cities where we open our outlets. This forms part of our commitment to give back to the communities in which we operate by providing employment opportunities for its people”, he added.
