I wanted to describe a recent experience I had regarding banking at GT Bank.
I was attending an academic conference in Accra, Ghana last week. Most of the attendees were visiting from North America (USA and Canada). We had the most difficult time trying to find ATMs that would accept our bank and credit cards. We drove around and around for what felt like ages, just trying to find an ATM that we could use to safely withdraw money. At long last, we found GTBank. Soon after, the word spread amongst the conference attendees that GT was “the bank” to find. This news set off scores of eager excursions with busloads of conference goers on quests to find the GTBank branches nearest to their hotels. I recall being on a crowded van when one of the passengers spotted the GTBank sign. Its bright orange color seemed to glimmer and glow. The van shook with applause and people pointing to the sign and shouting with joy and relief “Oh my goodness, there it is, there it is! We’re close. I can see it!” I think a few people even started crying.
GTBank is the best, and many of my colleagues experienced it as an oasis among the desolate collection of other useless ATMs in the system.
Laron E. Nelson,
Reindorf B. Perbi, Accra
Seth, you are so kind to provide this exceptional service with this matter. We do so appreciate your efforts and whenever we get enquiries from other airlines, who maybe considering service to Africa, we always tell them that GTBank is the bank to use.
I am happy about the mode of customer service in some banks in Ghana recently. One of such Banks is GTBank, specifically the Ashaiman Branch.
I was driving on one of the routes in Ashaiman and stopped at the GTBank ATM to withdraw some cash. I encountered some difficulties and one of the security guys on duty called a young gentlemen of the branch to attend to me. I was later told he was the supervisor in-charge of the ATM. Even though I do not have an account with the Bank, the gentleman ushered me into the office and explained to me the reason why I was facing problems accessing my cash. He pleaded with me to wait a while and try again.
As I sat waiting, almost all the staff who walked past me asked whether I had been served and I was so happy about this treatment which I never enjoyed where I had my account.
I later tried my ATM card again and had my cash and left the premises happy!
